I have been reading a book that is scratching lots of my itches I have come to a page that talks about the basic human need to be "the Sparkle in Someone's Eye".
James Friesen says - the first two years of life the desire to experience joy in loving relationship is the most powerful force. Life makes sense and is empowered by JOY when people are in relationship with those who love them and are sincerely "glad to be with them".
This book is called Face to Face with God by Bill Johnson - the above excerpt came from a book he read called (Living From the Heart Jesus Gave You by James G. Friesen PhD,et al).
I remember when our son Simon was a toddler he used to wait at the front door for his father to come home hoping he would be the first one to greet him. Now I have grandchildren who race up to me each time I visit to receive the sparkle that is in my eye for them.
If we consider what Jesus said about coming to Him like a little child this information makes sense as we all long to be in loving relationship and be the "sparkle in someone's eye".
I believe that God the Father is down on one knee with His arms outstretched, 'a sparkle in His eye' waiting for us to toddle up to Him so that He can pick us up and heal our hearts from any insecurities or rejection caused by any lack of "Sparkle" that has affected our lives.
"The JOY of the Lord is my strength" - so be ready to Sparkle causing more people to know how to experience JOY and loving relationship because

Why Are We Sitting Here Until We Die?
I have been thinking a lot lately of my life and how I would change things if I could just go back. When I read the blogs that others write I see a similar desire runs in most of us. However I don't like to have pity parties so I began to analyse where my thoughts came from.
Then I remembered the old song "I went to the enemies camp and I took back what he stole from me"
As I began to think "Where did that song come from?" it came from 2 Kings Chapter 7 where the 4 leprous men had a (light bulb moment), we are dying anyway why don't we go to the enemy camp and see if we can get some food? Then God backed them up with a miracle. Their reaction to this blessing leads to the rescue of the whole city from starvation.
After that I itemised all the things I perceived to be missing/stolen from my life to demand them all back. As I took this all to God though He seemed to be saying "But Jennifer what is really missing?"
The thing that really goes missing from my life that I must take back from the enemy camp is "MY CONFIDENCE" not all the time but sometimes when I experience a sequence of setbacks in my life its not the stolen goods I need to recover it is MY CONFIDENCE. My belief in the One who made me in my Mom's tum.
I have come to the conclusion that I do not want to be the Officer who was trampled in the gate because of his unbelief "Now look if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could such a thing be?"
Well yes it can! My God is well able to reverse the curse of any setback. I pray that He will do it right now for you and for me.
